Dry ice cleaning boiler scale cleaning

Boilers can accumulate ash, scale, rust, and other issues over time, which can affect the normal operation of the equipment and pose risks to safety and property. Regular cleaning of boilers not only ensures their proper functioning and safety but also significantly reduces costs, making it a routine operation to improve efficiency.
The working principle of dry ice cleaning involves three processes: low-temperature freezing, blow-off, and impact.
Low-temperature freezing: When dry ice particles at -78.5℃ contact the surface to be cleaned, they freeze and make the contaminants brittle. The contaminants on the surface fracture, transitioning from a sticky elastic state to a solid state. This increases their brittleness and decreases their adhesion on the surface, allowing for some contaminants to be automatically removed.
Blow-off: Compressed air is used to create a shearing force on the frozen and brittle contaminants. This force leads to mechanical fractures, as the contaminants experience high stress concentration due to the large difference in thermal contraction between the contaminants and the cleaned surface. As a result, the contaminants are detached from the surface.
Impact: High-speed dry ice particles collide with the enlarged surface of the contaminants, transferring kinetic energy to them. This overcomes the reduced adhesion force, and the shear force generated by this impact carries away the contaminants with the airflow, effectively removing them.
