To maintain today’s high quality standards, cleaning mold cavities and vents is a major concern for plastic parts manufacturers. The accumulation of excess surface residues from filling resin gases or during the demolding process can lead to various issues, such as compromised part ejection (“sticking”), poor product quality, and damage to the tooling. Vent blockages can also result in product overflow, scorch marks, and inadequate filling, posing challenges for manufacturers.

Traditional cleaning methods using chemicals and manual tools are tedious and inefficient. The DS Jet alternative cleaning process provides a non-abrasive and environmentally friendly method, allowing molds and products to be cleaned in a short amount of time, thus extending the intervals for preventive maintenance. Additionally, molds can be cleaned in situ at operating temperatures, without the need for water, chemicals, or the generation of secondary waste.
